ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday stated that candidates for the upcoming presidential elections have until 12pm today to withdraw their candidature.
The final list of candidates will be published by the ECP at 1pm.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dr Arif Alvi, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman have submitted their nomination papers for the country’s president-ship.
The nomination papers of all three candidates have been approved by the ECP.
The voting for the upcoming presidential election is expected to be held on September 4.
